Texas Rangers

I love the Texas Rangers.  That should not be news to anyone who knows me at all.

The Rangers haven't always been that great, they've never won the World Series...but they've always been my team.

There's very few places that I would rather be on Friday night than catching a game at Globe Life Park (AKA...THE Ballpark in Arlington) and sitting under the fireworks to celebrate a Rangers win!

Today hasn't been the Rangers day.  MLB changed Alex Rios' error into a David Ortiz hit.  While it's great that we have one less error, it also means that Yu didn't take a no-hitter into the 9th inning.  Not to mention the fact that change goes against the rulebook!

Matt Harrison and Martin Perez hit the 15-day DL again today.  While 15 days isn't that long in the baseball world, with our pitchers luck lately....the 15-day DL has turned into more like see-ha next year DL.

All this coming the day after we get shutout by the ASTROS????

On the bright side - there's some young talent that's going to get more experience?!

It's a rough day, but not time to give up!

I saw this on twitter, and frankly sums it up pretty well right now:

Thankful!

In the last few weeks, I've made some big changes in my life.  I haven't dyed my hair purple or anything crazy like that, but I've taken some big steps to say the least, and I'm probably not done.

More to the point....
When it's not the month of November, I think sometimes it takes a major change in your life for you to realize just how much you have to be thankful for.  This has definitely been my case in the last week or so.
Specifically, it's has come to my attention just how thankful I am to have some people in my life.  I know that I have told them, but sometimes I feel like it's just not enough, so I wanted to mention a few here.

  • I'm thankful for my brother.  While we are polar opposites most days, and sometimes aren't the best of friends, we've always been close.  I've always heard that the older you get, the better friends you become with your sibling.  While I didn't doubt that, I sure am glad that this is coming true.
  • I'm thankful for the people that I work with.  I have worked at the same place since I was 15 years old and I've done a lot of growing up over the years, but it never ceases to amaze me how lucky I am.  Whether it's through little words of encouragement or the countless opportunities that they have put in front of me, I don't know that I will ever be able to say thank you enough.
  • I'm thankful for my family.  This may seem cliché, but it's so true.  Even for the little things like bringing me a smoothie, can simply make my day and for that I'm grateful!
  • I'm thankful for those who have been so quick to jump out and ask, "What do you need?" Even when I didn't have a good answer; the saying "It's the thought that counts" really is true!

Keeping me busy lately...

As you probably know....I'm a workaholic.  I wanted to share some of the projects that I've worked on lately.  Hope you like them!

First - is a music video for the 2014 Coronado Softball team.  They did all of the hard work by doing all the shooting.  I just put it all together, but I had fun doing it.  Take a look....

Best of luck to the Lady Mustangs as they continue in the playoffs!

Sometimes the stories that I just stumble into turn out to be the best!  I was at Waters Elementary shooting something for another show.  Turns out it was 80's day in celebration of the school's 30th anniversary!  The story tuned out pretty cute, I thought.....

This was one of the bigger projects that I've worked on.  The Junior League of Lubbock celebrated their 60th anniversary this year, and I had the opportunity to put together this video for them.  Be careful, this one is longer....
